Today my Best Girl turned 6!

My, oh my, how time has flown!
I treasure every. single. day. with you my angel.
Thank you for making my dream of motherhood such a beautiful reality!

I sent her off to school this morning with a promise to see her soon.
I had placed a special order to Dunkin Donuts for 24 of her favorites!
(Strawberry frosted with sprinkles!)
Marshall and I delivered them to her and her classmates during morning recess.
They were a big hit!
I kissed her good-bye for the second time that day and once again promised to see her soon!
Today was the "Fall Party" in her classroom and I volunteered to come up with and help all 24 of them execute a fall craft!
Here is what we made!

When the party was over I kissed her good-bye for the third time and yet another promise to see her soon- when school was over!
Her first words once off the bus were, can I open my presents now?!?
She had asked me a couple weeks ago to make a treasure hunt for her to find her present!
How could I say no to that?
Let the hunt begin!
First it was up to her room...
Then down to the kitchen table...
 Then back up stairs
 to the shower...
 Then back down stairs
 to the barbie house...
And then to the closet where she finally found her treasure!

For dinner she requested grilled chicken and her favorite pasta side.
Then it was time for birthday wishes and chocolate cream pie

Cheers to 6 amazing years baby girl!
Soooooo glad you were born!

Happy Halloween! (wok wok)

*the title is a family joke!

This year we had the...
Bat Witch

And the...
Pirate!

This little pirate is always on the move and a good picture is nearly impossible!

I tried so hard all night long to get a good picture of the 2 of them together!
Here is the proof-

Marshall was so excited to go trick-or-treating!
He grabbed daddy's hand and exclaimed
"LET'S GOOOO!!!"

Then came back all excited to show me his spoils!

Both kids had a wonderful night!
I love Halloween in our neighborhood!
Mia is already talking about what she should be next year :-/

Monkey Bars

So it seems that mastering the monkey bars is a BIG DEAL in kindergarten!
At the beginning of the year Mia could hardly hang from one bar, let alone go from one to the next!

Well, with lots of hard work and perseverance she is well on her way!

She is so proud of herself!
I'm pretty proud too.

The Farm

Mia had her first kindie field trip today!
I was sad that I couldn't go with her.
Her awesome teacher just sent me this pic.
Can't wait to hear all about it when she gets home!

Marshall can't read yet!

"You are the best mom I know. I wish I knew you when I was younger so I could have been like you."
-mom

Mom, your words mean more to me then you know.
I am who I am today because of the mom that you were.
For that I am grateful!

I love you so...

Mia got some hairs cut!

A few weeks ago Mia mentioned that she wanted to get her hair cut.
She said that her hair was bothering her during school.
"It hangs in my face while I am taking my math test" she said.
(Does she really take math tests? I don't think so...)
But I did notice that she would come home with her hair taken out of whatever style she made me do that morning. (braids, low ponies, piggy tails, single bun, double bun, half up...Our repertoire has gotten pretty big!)
So I do think it was bothering her and I didn't want her hair to distract her from school!
So I called to schedule an appointment.
We couldn't get in for a week or so.
"That will be good. I have more time to think about it" she said.
"You know mom, it will be easier for you too. You won't have to do my hair every day" she added.
In the days leading up to the appointment she became very sure of what she wanted.
"I want it cut to here" (Places hands just about her shoulders) she proclaimed.

Well today was the big day!

"I love it! I'm so excited" she exclaimed.

Love my precious angel!
