As long as I am living....

...my baby he will be.

My sweet boy awoke at 6:15am today.
I brought him into bed with us and he lay on my chest resting quietly for a bit.
As I lay there with my eyes closed
feeling his warm little body against mine,
listening to him breathe,
I thought back to this time last year.
Then he was brand new,
so tiny on my chest.

Now he is getting so big
he talks to us (in his own language)
he gets into mischief
he eats like a boy
he has discovered the stairs
he will walk soon
he loves his daddy
nobody can make him laugh like I can
he looks up to his sister
he is forever taking his socks off
can pull out the outlet covers
he loves going to Grammy's room for a visit
and nothing calms him like Baby Einstein.

I am so thankful for this precious boy
thankful for his health
his giggles
his snuggles
his excitement over his favorite book (Where is Baby's Belly Button)
I am thankful for every late night
every early morning
every moment of every day with him.

Tomorrow he turns 1
