A Sunday tradition

It has become a tradition for Daddy and Mia to go swimming on Sunday afternoons.
She looks forward to this every week!
It has become harder for me to take her swimming now that Marshall is here.
Once the water in the pool warms up a bit more I will feel better about taking him in, but until then he and I sit it out!
But Mia and Daddy have a blast!
Her newest move is holding her breath,

And jumping off the top of the waterfall!
This year she hopes to learn to swim without her floaties!

I could just sit at my window secretly watching them the whole time!
I love to hear the imaginative things they play together!
Mia sure is lucky to have such a wonderful, fun, silly daddy!

(*Sometimes she get's bothered by his silliness and asks him to stop being silly for a while! HA! She does have some of her mama in her! There is only so much silliness I can handle too!)

Look who found his feet?!?

Had to throw in this one of Mia when she first found her feet!

The man in the mirror!

Marshy was so happy today playing in front of the mirror in our room!
Had to share these cute pics!

"What are we gonna do today?"

That is the question I hear every day before my eyes have even had a chance to adjust to daylight!
It drives me CRAZY!
That sweet voice at 5:30 in the morning saying
"So, Mom, what are we going to do today?"
It sometimes causes me to wake up on the wrong side of the bed!
And then all throughout the day I hear
"What do you think we should do next mom?"
"And then what are we gonna do after that?"
On and on it goes!
Seriously it was about to drive me to drinking!
So I called my mama, as any girl would do, and she calmed me down, offered her advice and came up with this great idea...
I have used it for 2 days now and it is working like a dream!
Mia refers to the chart multiple times a day to see what we are gonna do next!
And it is helping her to see that mommy has lots of things that she has to get done in her day too!

Thanks Mom for the support, encouragement and great idea!
Love you too much!

Bye bye palm trees :(

We had 2 palm trees in the grassy area of our back yard.
The biggest, healthiest one got hit by another falling tree in the storm.
It was leaning and so we had to have it removed.
We decided to get rid of the smaller, unhealthy palm at the same time.
It was quite a production, as the landscaper decided that he was going to save the trees and transplant them at his house!

Mia thought that the crane loading the trees onto the truck was really cool!

The best part about all of this mess is that it has lit a fire under us and we are finally going to get the backyard redone!
Yahoo!
Stay tuned for pics!

Marshall's New Play Place

Caleb put this together last weekend!

It is a nice alternative to the bouncy seat and the bumbo seat!
Marshall digs it too...
for about 5-10 minutes anyway!!!

Of course Mia had to get in on the photo action!
She thinks this picture of her sneaking Dora into the shot is just hilarious!
Personally I think Dora is a bit creepy!

I had to throw in this pretty picture of my blue eyed girl!
This is her newest picture face.
The closed mouth, coy smile!
Where she learned this one I don't know!
I sure do love that face though!

A post about hair

My sweet boy has lost almost all of his baby hair.

Remember his faux hawk?
This is all that is left of it!
Just a few long, crazy hairs towards the back of his head that stick straight up!
 and his embarrassing bald spot?
All gone and replaced with new big kid hair!
His new hair growth feels thicker and more coarse.
I think he got his daddy's luscious locks!

And Mia is sportin' a new look too!
She really wants to let her hair and bangs grow long.
We have tried in the past, but she won't let me do anything with it so we always end up cutting it.
This time she is into using hair "product" so I am able to keep her bangs out of her face!
We will see how long this lasts!

As for me...
Postpartum hair loss is in FULL swing!
GAH!
This is just from today!
It comes out in clumps.
And is all over my house!
It is a little alarming really.
When will it end?!?!
I don't know,
but I hope I have some hair left when it is over!
