Summer reading program

Today I took Mia to the library to sign her up for their summer reading program.
She chose 5 books.
This is one of them...

She picked out 2 "non-fiction" books!
The Respiratory System and The Nervous System!
Wonder if she is taking after her mama?!?!
The other books are much lighter reading!

Happy Anniversary to us!

Today marks 20 years of  being in love!

Cheers to us!!!

Not so much.

My boy needed a haircut,

so I made an appointment and took him in.
He had one when he was a few months old, he didn't mind.
He didn't hold still, but he didn't mind.
Today, he wanted nothing to do with it!

I had to hold him down!
And he was ruining the tranquility of the salon!
I felt bad for all the ladies there!
So Miss Becky worked fast and did the best she could!
She did a fine job, but I wanted it shorter.
So when we got home I put him in the sink and worked on him some more!
Looks pretty good I say!

When Mia was little I always said that if we ever have a boy I'm going to have to learn to cut his hair.
Seeing as how he tolerated me working on him way better then the stylist, I'm in the market for some nice, quiet trimmers!

This precious miracle celebrated his first birthday this week!

I was so happy that I was able to get the day off work and we could go to his party to celebrate!

Mia had so much fun playing with the other kids that were there.
She spent tons of time in the bounce house!
At the end there wasn't anyone else in there so Marshall joined in on the bouncing fun!

Marshall took the opportunity to practice his walking skills!

He was a bit jealous of me holding the birthday boy tho!

It was a wonderful family day!

***Unfortunately the grand finale of the day was Caleb coming down with the stomach flu :-(

On the bright side it was pretty short lived!

My Mother's Day Gift!

I asked the kids for some flowers to plant for Mother's Day.
They got me a gift card to Home Depot!
I was so excited!
We went shopping today and here is my loot!

And here are the fruits of my labor!

Working outside today and making my house look pretty helped to quiet my mind and soothe my soul!

***I bought the wood and had it cut into 8x10 blocks to make some crafty, subway art plaques!

Look who Graduated!!

Our precious girl graduated from Pre-K today!
I think that this is a bit of overkill and really unnecessary, but the school really hyped it and the kids were pumped up!
As I was walking hand in hand with Mia into the building she said "I'm so proud of myself mom!"
We are proud of you too Angel Baby!

My mama came for a visit this week!
I sure needed to see her.
We had lots of fun hanging out and just being together.

Earlier this week Mia's School had a Mother's Day celebration!

It was fun to go and be pampered by my girl!

They gave us hand massages and did our hair.

They also sang a couple songs and had a fun time writing down all of our favorite things!

Mia was pretty spot on with her answers!

She also made me this great apron!
