Marshall Ramsay and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Weekend!!!

My sweet boy had 10 green, doodie diapers last Monday!
I knew this wasn't normal, but tried to blame it on something in my diet.
By Thursday morning he had become increasingly fussy and was continuing to have lots of green stools.
I took him to the doctor and she said that he most likely had some sort of virus.
(Did you know that if your baby's doodie is green that can mean that his food is passing thru his body too quickly? As in diarrhea?!?)
I was to watch for signs of dehydration, respiratory distress and fever.
In the middle of the night on Thursday he had a fever of 100.8.
In the morning it was 101.5
7 week old babies are not supposed to have fevers.
So off to the peds office we went again.
His temp there was 102.5!!!!!!!!!!
The MA was very concerned and said that the doctor would be in with us next.
It didn't take long for the doctor to send us to the ER for a battery of tests to find out where the fever was coming from.
We arrived at Cardon's Children's Hospital at 1 o'clock on Friday and didn't leave until 10am on Sunday!
My poor sweet boy was poked, prodded and x-rayed in the ER.
Around 8:00pm they decided to admit him and watch him.
Before they moved us to a room they did a lumbar puncture on my little prince!
I almost lost it!
I was strong and held it together through the catheter, IV and lab draws, but this was a little too much for me!
I am so thankful that he will not remember this experience!
So we stayed in the hospital for almost 48hrs.
All of his labs came back normal.
They sent a stool sample off on Saturday evening and the diagnosis of viral gastroenteritis was made.
He improved and we were able to go home on Sunday Morning.
It was quite an experience and I am so glad it is over.
I missed Mia so much while we were there.
She is also sick so she wasn't able to visit. But she came to the hospital and I spent some time with her in the lobby and we had dinner together in the cafeteria the second night.
Here are some pics I took of my precious boy during our stay.

We are home now and he is about 90% back to normal!
He still has times where I can tell his belly is hurting and he has some loose stools, but he is getting better every day!
We are both very happy to be sleeping in our own beds again!

Thanks to everyone who sent good thoughts and lots of love our way!
