Mia saw a commercial on the Disney Channel for the "Make your mark" dance contest.
She was so excited and just had to make her own video to enter in to the contest.
She picked her music (the Angry Birds song!),
Worked on her routine (for like 5 minutes!),
And then it took 3 takes until she was happy with her video!
This morning when we went to upload it to the website to enter the contest,
we discovered that you have to be at least 8 years old to enter.
My poor girl almost cried.
She really wanted to see her video on TV!
So darn cute!
So I decided to share it here on the blog!
Who needs that dang contest?
My girl would have won for sure!!!

6 MONTHS!
Friday the 13th has never scared me!
And on Friday January 13th it became one of my favorite days of the year!
It's kinda fun that my boy was born on a Friday the 13th and now we celebrate his 6 month birthday on Friday the 13th!
I seriously can't believe my sweet boy is a half a year old already!
Crazy!
He is getting so big! I'm pretty sure that his doctor is going to be impressed with his weight gain when we see her for his 6mo check up next week!
He can sit up on his own pretty good now, is quite skilled at rolling around to reach whatever he wants, is eating 2 solid meals a day, loves his big sister, never fails to smile when grammy says good morning and gets so happy when daddy gets home.
He is happy when he is busy, and doesn't like to sit still!
I think he is going to get 2 bottom teeth soon.
He puts everything in his mouth and has been quite the fuss bucket lately, so here's hoping those bad boys pop thru and we get a little break before the next round!
Ahhhh teething, one of the yuckiest parts of babyhood!
Don't worry little buddy, mama will help you through it!
He is gonna need those teeth for eating!
He wants everything I eat!
It is so funny!
I sometimes just put my food to his lips, and he gets so still and then licks his chops!
I think this guy is gonna be a good eater!
He is already eating rice cereal, pears, apples, bananas, peaches, peas, green beans and sweet potatoes!
I think I am going to introduce squash next!
It is so fun to feed him!
He gets so excited and I can't shovel it in fast enough!
I think that is all of his highlights for now!
Cheers to your first 6 months sweet boy!
Keep the good times comin'!

Water Babies!
Marshall got to go swimming in our pool today for the first time!
It was quite a bit of preparation and work for only about 30min of fun, but it was worth it!
One busy mama!
I can't believe it has been over 2 weeks since I posted!
Life has been hectic, but just with everyday things.
Being a mama of 2 that gets to stay home Monday thru Thursday and then works 40 hours between Friday, Saturday and Sunday is not always easy!
I am so dog tired on Mondays!
Yet life still goes on.
Mia wakes up around 6:00am and my day is off and running!
This last Monday I did 5 loads of laundry before 12, then took Mia to gymnastics camp, I had a dentist appointment, ran to walmart for a few things, picked Mia up from gymnastics, came home put away the rest of the laundry, had dinner (luckily grammy made dinner!), gave Marshall a bath, put both kids to bed and left for the grocery store at 8:15! I got home around 9:30 and put everything away and fell into bed!
Keep in mind that through all of that I am still breastfeeding Marshall every 3 hours and he is now having 2 solid meals a day as well!
GAH! This is one busy Mama indeed!
But I wouldn't trade any of it!
It is such a gift to have so much time to spend with my littles during the week and being their mama and Caleb's wife are the purest joys in my life!
All that being said- I sure do look forward to bedtime every night!
Thank goodness for the restorative powers of sleep!
***This is one of my favorite lines from Mia's current favorite book- "Even a fairy princess needs a break to keep her sparkle from sagging!"
True that.

Another Pinterest idea!
I had seen this activity posted on Pinterest and really didn't think it looked that great, but when I kept seeing it over and over I figured it had to be good right?
Well Mia has a darn summer cold and has been feeling puny and cooped up.
So this morning I ran to the store and bought the few little things I needed and let Mia have fun!

It's just baking soda and colored vinegar and when she squirts it on it fizzes and bubbles!
She had fun and has already asked when we can do it again!
I think I'll be looking at Sam's Club for a big 'ol box of baking soda!
Poor Marshall really wanted in on the fun too!
Not yet little buddy!
***Don't think we will be able to use the Bumbo seat much longer!
